Here are a few of the forty~nine girls
who just joined the American Girls Book Club at Jefferson Carnegie
Library in Jefferson Tx.  This is a club where members read American
Girl books and so much more!  The club is supported by donations from
citizens in our community and it is a worthwhile endeavour, for you
never know when you are going to change the destiny of a persons life!
At the end of the year each girl will have started a library of her own
with eight new books that she has already read.
In this
club there is no mention of American Girl Dolls, as many of these girls
could not afford them.  Members read American Girl Books, discuss the
books, do crafts, learn manners and eat a meal at the conclusion of each
meeting (yes!! napkins are on laps).  These photographs feature a
few of the Third Graders.  At every meeting each girl is given a
necklace which corrisponds to the girls we have just read about &
Michele puts a special wish for the girls into every necklace she makes.
All of these portriats you see were taken just once.
Each girl a masterpiece.
You can see such sweetness and happiness and hope in their eyes.
In Texas many little girls still wear bows in their hair.
I like looking at each girls unique beauty.
I like looking at the depth and shine in their eyes.
The essence of sweetness!
I like little girls and still feel like a little girl in a grownup's body and I'm glad about that!

Well, now it's official......This school year has officially begun and I officially wonder were this year has gone!
