Solara 50, the solar airplane to replace satellites

The prototype presented by Titan Aerospace could be in constant flight for 5 years.

The company introduced the Titan Aerospace atmospheric planes of the first solar-powered satellite. Solara is 50, similar to a drone that could be in constant flight for about five years nave.

This satellite, 50 meters long and with wings of 15 meters, will be covered with solar panels, which will give you energy to go more than 4 million kilometers at an altitude of 20 km above sea level and a cruising speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour.

The Solara could cover an area of about 17,800 square kilometers, replacing 100 terrestrial communications towers.

Although much remains to see passenger aircraft powered by solar energy, this is a big step for the Aeronautics powered by renewable energy, which will prevent more pollution into the atmosphere.
