Stanley
Kubrick was one of America’s most influential filmmakers. But his
special skill behind the camera and his ability to create visual
intrigue were evident long before he became a Hollywood icon. At the age
of 18 Kubrick joined the Look magazine and became the youngest staff
photographer in the magazine’s history. He continued to work for Look
until 1950 when he left to pursue film making. Here are some of his
iconic photographs of New York life in the 40s, taken for Look magazine.
